Notes for Dr John Waller
Relict of Mary Pomfrett Waller.
Said to be the son of Thomas Waller (1610-1682) and Anne (Keats) Waller (1615-1707), grandson of Edmund Waller (1580-1667) and Mary (Smith) Waller (1583-1642), John Keats (1587-1667) and Bridget (Harris) Keats (1591-1640).

R.M. Glencross, London genealogist, stated: "John Waller was apprenticed 23 June 1658 to the Barber Surgeons' Company; was admitted to Freedom 6 Feb. 1665; admitted to St. Catherine's College, Cambridge 10 June 1664, M.B. (sic) 1667; married at Walton, Bucks, 13 January 1669 to Mary Pomfrett, of Newport Pagnell, Bucks." (cited in Waller Genealogy, p.345; also: "One of the functions of the Barber Surgeons' Company in the 17th Century was closely analogous to that of a medical school of today.")

John Waller wrote his will at Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire, England, on Aug. 21, 1716.
He died Aug. 4-5, 1723.

Newport Pagnell Registers, Vol. 3 or 4:
"Burials at Newport Pagnell:
"1723 John Waller Aug. 6"

Some family trees show these dates:
Dr. John Waller
Birth: 1645
Newport Pagnell
Milton Keynes Borough
Buckinghamshire, England
Death: Aug. 21, 1716 (?)
Newport Pagnell
Milton Keynes Borough
Buckinghamshire, England

Headstones have not been located. Some were removed from the cemetery and used to make a walk in approximately the 1960s. One website has a list of the stones which were removed but the list does not include the Wallers.
John Waller's will refers to the family plot inside an enclosure by the river wall. Note that the river overflows in that area, so there may have been no readable markers left when the stones were removed.John WALLER M.D. was born about 1645 at Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire, England and wrote his will there on 21d 8m 1716. The parish records there do not show a baptismal or a burial record for him. He is sometimes confused with his son John the Colonel. Note however that while the Colonel emmigrated to Virginia the M.D. did not.
