Marker in the Nave:
"To the Memory of William Pomfret,
Late of this Parish, Gent.
Who, together with his three Wives, and a numerous
Offspring,
Lyeth near this place Interred.
He departed this Life the 6th day of June, 1666,
Virtus post Funera Vivit."

Staines' transcription of the memorial plaque is given in Monuments in Newport Pagnell Church (2011) by Dennis C. Mynard and Shaun Higgins, pp. 12-13 but it is not clear whether the memorial is still visible there.
It was not on a partial list of transcriptions made before 1837 by Browne Willis


William Pomfrett, documented as Father of Mary Pomfrett Waller, wife of John Waller: 2 Oct 1699 Buckinghamshire, England in abstract of 2 Oct 1669 mortgage transcription posted on Newport Pagnell Historian's site.

A family tree compiled by a descendant says "She (Mary) was born about 1648 at Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire, England and is said to be the daughter of William & Ann (KING) POMFRETT." These names appear in several books.

William Pomfrett's will, dated 29 May 1666, was proven 25 June 1667.

Death date from Old Time Jottings: 6. The Pomfret Family by Frederick William Bull which refers to information contained in Staines History of Newport Pagnell. "He departed this life the 6th day of June, 1666."
