Capt. John Smith: On 1 August 1647 when John was 26, he first married Catherine (Katharine) MORRILL, daughter of Isaac and Sarah MORRILL, in Reading, Middlesex, MA. Their marriage was also listed in the Roxbury, Suffolk, MA vital records as "Smith, John & Katherine Morrol". Catherine was born circa 1635 and died in Reading, Middlesex, MA on 12 September 1662; she was 27. Her death record reads "Smith, Katherine". She is buried with John in North Chelsea, MA (now Revere), Suffolk , MA.11
