Notes for Eleanor Dutton
Daughter of Peter Dutton of Hatton Cheshire and Elizabeth Fouleshurst, daughter of Sir Robert. Her parents have memorials but they are Burial Unknown which I do not link to. Apologies.
Wife of Sir Randolph Brereton, son of Randolph Brereton and Emme Carington. They had nine sons and three daughters.
Eleanor died after 1522, or after 1530 as she survived her husbad, and was buried at Malpas, Cheshire.
Her dates, and that of her family, are still unknown.
Inscription
Round the edge of the tomb is the following inscription in Latin - "Here lie Randal Brereton Knight Banneret and Chamberlain of the County of Chester and the Lady Eleanor his wife, which said Randal and Eleanor, while yet living, had this tomb made, to wit at the feast of St Michael the Archangel AD 1522 on whose souls may God have mercy, Amen."11
