Elizabeth was held captive for 9 years along with her mother(she escaped after 4 years) and sister Mary by Indians after an attack on her parents farm in Green's Run near Kingwood in 1788. This attack resulted in the death of her father and brother. Her other sister Sarah escaped after being shot in the hand.
Elizabeth married a man named John King,(a French trader) and had 2 sons John King and David . Elizabeth wanted to return home but Mr. King didn't want to go, so he sold her to a soldier by the name of Andrew Johnson, who married her and then returned to WV.
Johnson and Elizabeth later had children named Jesse, Isaac, Wm. Green, Sarah and Rebecca.11
