John Cory (John II) born Sept. 1639, in Southold, Suffolk Co. LI NY. Died 1 Jan. 1685/6, in Huntington, Suffolk Co. IL NY. Occupation: Farmer/Merchant. John removed to Huntington, L.I. about 1660. On July 7, 1663 he bought a lot at Huntington for a home. He was granted land there in 1668, 1681 and 1682. He was at one time one of the owners of farm number nine of ten farms. He is said to be a Quaker, a man of considerable importance in Huntington, being town clerk, arbitrator, recorder, etc. His Will dated 25 January 1686 was never proven. Inventory of his personal property was 82 pounds 10 shillings. The Greate Booke was passed on to John III.
He married Mary Cornish, daughter of Thomas Cornish and Mary Stone, 15 Dec 1667, in Stamford CT, Born, 4 May 1649, in Exeter NH. Died 1 Dec. 1702, in Huntington, Suffolk Co..
