John Cory born 3 Feb. 1673/4 in Huntington, Suffolk, LI, NY; died 30 Dec. 1721 in Elizabethtown, Essex Co., NJ; buried in old Presbyterian Church yard in Elizabethtown, NJ; occupation farmer/merchant. Records show that John bought 63 acres of land from David Watkins in 1719 about 2.5 miles from Westfield. He resided on that land until his death in 1723. (conflicting years of death).
John Cory's will was dated 3 Mar. 1720; was proven at Elizabethtown, NJ 7 Jan. 1723. His wife Pricilla was Executrix; will mentions sons Elnathon, John, Joseph, and Benjamin; daughters Mary and Hannah.
John Cory married Pricilla Osborn, daughter of Joseph Osborn and Pricilla Roberts on 16 Mar. 1697/8, in Elizabethtown, Essex Co., NJ. She was born in 1677 in Elizabethtown, NJ and died there on 16 Dec. 1723.
