02 MAR 1740, after his marriage, he bought 100 acres of land in Goochland Co. from Anthony Pounay which became Albemarle in 1744....from Abney Book, p64.

In 1744, Albemarle was created, in part, from Goochland which put Paul's land in Albemarle Co. & Fredericksville Parish.

02 MAR 1750 Paul Abney, living in Albemarle Co., VA sold land to John GRAVES. Paul Abney of Albemarle planter to John Graves for 300& 100a bounded beginning at a white oak in Charles LYNCHES line running thence on same W to pointers, thence on William RANDOLPH's line SW to pointers, thence SW to pointer on the Creek side, thence down said creek to a white oak, thence E to a white oak on the bank line, thence on the same N to the beginning/s/ Paul Abney/w/Benton, Will Whiteside.....p 65.

In 1761 , Amherst Co. was created from Albemarle. Paul's land was now in Amherst County, VA. Amherst Parish was established in 1781. In 1807 this area became Nelson Co., VA (and Lexington Parish which was established in 1778).

Children: John,1739 & Pvt. Paul,1745. And, R.R. Abney believes a 3rd child to be Lucy ca 1725 who married Jonathan Witt.
