She was of a fine old Scotch family - her parents rest in Falling Springs churchyard, Chambersburg, PA. Her brother, Alexander Thomson, was a noted PA jurist; his portrait in Bedford, PA courthouse. T.A. Hendricks read law with him in Chambersburg as a young man.
