Notes for Edmund Farrington
Born about 1588 (aged 47 in 1635; deposed 25 June 1661 "aged about three score and seven." (The passenger list age is more likely correct, inasmuch as the deposition age would make him only nineteen at marriage. It is unusual, however, for a person at that age to underestimate by six years.) Fellmonger from Olney, Buckinghamshire who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 on the "Hopewell" & settled in Lynn. Died in Lynn 20 January 1670/1.
Married in Sherrington, Buckinghamshire, 29 November 1613 Elizabeth Newhall. She was born about 1586 (aged 49 in 1635) and died at Lynn 15 December 1678.
On 1 April 1635, "Edmond Farrington," aged 47, "of Oney in Buckinghamsher," "Eliza[beth] wife of Edmond Farrington," aged 49, "Sarra Farrington," aged 14, "Mathew Farrington," aged 12, "Jo[h]n Farrington," aged 11, and "Eliza[beth] Farrington," aged 8, "children of Edw[ard] Farrington," were enrolled at London for passage to New England on the Hopewell.
Edmund Farrington was one of the Lynn men who made arrangements in 1640 for the settlement of Southampton, but there is no evidence that he actually resided there
