Mary Pendergast, wife of the late Michael Pendergast was laid to rest in Mt. Olivet cemetery. She died Sunday at her home, 1715 Frederick Avenue. Her funeral was one of the largest ever held in the city. The floral tributes were many and beautiful.
Pall bearers were Frank J. Shinnick, WIlliam Crossley, James Ray, M. Sullivan, David Martin, John P. Lynch and M. Ross.
Mrs. Pendergast's sons are well known politicians of the state. James Pendergast., one of her sons, has for twelve years served as member of the city council at Kansas City. A special train from Kansas City arrived early yesterday morning bearing a large number of friends of Mrs. Pendergast's sons. Among those who came on the car were: Mayor James A. Reed, Speaker John P. Lynch, Police Commissioner Henry P. Stewart, Fire Chief Edward Trickett and many others.
