Mrs. Catherine Galazka Bieluch, 81, formerly of 54 Charter Oak Ave., died yesterday at a convalescent home in Bloomfield. She was the wife of the late Joseph Bieluch and mother of the Rev. Chester A. Bieluch assistant pastor of St. Stanislaus Church, Meriden and of Judge William C. Bieluch of Hartford.

Born in Poland, she came to America in 1909 and lived in Hartford more than 60 years. She was a member of The Third Order of St. Francis, the Rosary Society of SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, the Polish Women's Alliance, Group 9, and the Polish Roman Catholic Union, Group 262.

Besides the Rev. Bieluch and Judge Bieluch, she leaves another son, Joseph H. Bieluch of Hartford; three daughters, Mrs. Alice B. Moran of Hartford, Mrs. Wesley C. Gryk of Manchester and Miss Katherine M. Bieluch of New York, NY; two sisters, Mrs. John Mitrowski of East Hartford and Mrs. Florentyna Lis of Poland; a brother Alexander Galazka of Poland; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the Talarski Funeral Home, 382 Maple Ave., with a Solemn Requiem High Mass at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church at 10, celebrated by her son, Father Bieluch. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.

Friends may call at the funeral home today and Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Catherine Galazka Bieluch, 81, formerly of 54 Charter Oak Ave., died today (April 17, 1970) in a convalescent home in Bloomfield, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Bieluch and mother of the Rev. Chester A. Bieluch assistant pastor of St. Stanislaus Church, Meriden and of Judge William C. Bieluch of Hartford.

Katarzyna was born in Kadzidlo, Lomza Russian Poland on July 1889. Katarzyna, (Americanized to Catherine) followed her husband to the United States accompanied by her oldest daughter, Alice in 1913. She raised a family at 54 Charter Oak Avenue in Hartford. She sorted tobacco leaves at the Tobacco Factory on Windsor Street where her husband was a night watchman. The children would all stop by to visit with their families on Sunday afternoons once they were off on their own. Babcia never learned to speak English. Babcia and dziadek were members of SS Cyril and Methodius Church.
