Notes for Martin Joseph Loftus
He and Grace married on Sept 4, 1895, in Keokuk, Lee, Iowa.
He is the son of Roger & Jane Laughey Loftus.
Both of his parents were born in Ireland.
Their daughter, Margerite Mary Loftus Sahs, born May 3rd, 1898, in Keokuk, Lee Co., Iowa, died July 10th, 1988, in Oak Lawn, Cook County, Illinois, unknown burial location.
In 1910, census records had them living in Des Moines, Iowa, and his profession is "Layer of Carpet".
He and Grace can be found in Iowa in the the year 1915 living in Ceder Rapids. He was a "Buyer Furniture Store" ad his church affiliation is "Catholic".
In 1917, he was a manager of a furniture store on his WWI registration card and still a furniture salesman on the 1920 & 1930 census.
Thank you to William Kazupski for taking the time to get a photo for his memorial. This is the actual single grave and no other Loftus family members were in the immediate area. I have made a note that I think his son Martin is here.11
