Notes for Reuben Beal Sr
Reuben Beal/Beals was the son of Abraham Beal 1721-1782 and Bathsheba Shaw Beal 1722-1803. Reuben was in the revolutionary war. He enlisted on Nov.7th 1775. Reuben was married to Sarah "Sally" Smith Nov 16,1779 in Chesterfield Mass. She was the daughter of Jonas and Mercy Buxton Smith. Reuben and his two brothers Abraham and Jacob settled in Milford Village, Ostego N.Y. from Plymouth Co. Mass. in 1785. Reuben's son David was the first child born in Milford Village. At the turn of the century as the west expanded, Reuben moved his family to Bradford Co. Pa. There he remained his lifetime.
