John Hewes and Mary Foote are the ancestors of William Howard Taft and Richard Nixon, both through daughter Elizabeth Hewes Hemingway. Mary's brother Nathaniel is the ancestor of Rutherford B. Hayes and George H.W. and George W. Bush.

Mary's brother Nathaniel Foote is the father of Mary Foote Tracy, and an ancestor of Danford Newton Barney.
John Hewes and Mary Foote are ancestors of my father George Otis Parker, Jr. two times. Both lines of descent are by way of their daughter Elizabeth Hewes and her husband Ralph Hemingway. Their daughter Elizabeth Hemingway married John Holbrook, and daughter Elizabeth Holbrook married Captain Joseph Mayo. Their daughter Elizabeth Mayo and her husband Nathaniel Brewer III are my father's ancestors twice: their son Joseph and their son Stephen are my direct ancestors. Joseph's granddaughter Mary Foster Brewer married Stephen's grandson Thomas Aspinwall Brewer. Thomas Aspinwall Brewer and Mary Foster Brewer were second cousins. By their daughter Catherine Elizabeth Brewer, Thomas and Mary were my father's third great-grandparents.11
