Benjamin Ford, son of Jacob & Sarah (Shaw) Ford was born in Abington,Plymouth, Massachusetts 25 April 1750; married 19 April 1750 in Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts, Sarah Brett. He lived in his father's house at the present 1011 Washington Street, Abington until he sold it to Capt. Richard Vining about 1800, when he removed to Windsor, Berkshire, Massachusetts.

Edward Cobb's co., Col. Edward Mitchel's regt.; service, 5 days; company marched from Abington to "The Farms in Braintree" March 4, 1776; also, Capt. Cobb's co., Col. Mitchel's regt., Gen. Cushing's brigade; service, 1 week 3 days; company marched from Abington to Bristol, R. I., Dec. 9, 1776, on an alarm; also, Capt. Edward Cobb's co., Maj. Eliphalet Cary's regt.; marched July 30, 1780; discharged Aug. 9, 1780; service, 11 days; company marched from Abington to Tiverton, R. I., July 30, 1780, on an alarm.
