Wife Elizabeth; Children: John (eldest son), Catherine, Elizabeth, Hans/John Adam, George, Maria Barbara. Eldest son John was willed the 176-acre farm which adjoined the Host Church. John and his second wife, Eve, sold 126 acres to Frederich Gerhard on April 3, 1820 (Berks County deed Volume 31 page 305).
A Miller by trade and a Soldier in the Revolutionary War - A 2nd Lieutenant with the 3rd Company, Berks County Militia. A son of Johannes Riegel Sr. and Catharina Elizabetha Shirmann. He married Elizabeth Zeller. He is buried in the old cemetery behind the church.11
