On the 16th of May, 1861, Peder Borup Pedersen and his young family boarded a ship called the "Monarch of the Sea" from Liverpool, England in a company of 955 other LDS Saints and began their long trip to the Utah Valley in the Americas. Their voyage lasted a month. They arrive in New York City Harbor on the 16th of Jun 1861.11
