My research notes show William Jr. CRABTREE was born or baptised in Migby, Yorkshire, England and married 17d 2m 1724/25 Mary PYKE in Kingsville, Saint John's Parish, Baltimore Co, Maryland. William Jr. CRABTEE was baptised 15 3m 1703/04 in Migby, Yorkshire, England and died before 1758 maybe in Washington County, Virginia.
In 8m 2015 contributor Christopher Veltmann (#47941657) corrected the details on his death to read that he died 17d 2m 1758 in Baltimore County, Maryland.1537
William came to America as an infant with his parents in about 1705. He followed in fathers footsteps and farmed the fertile bottomlands of Northeast Maryland where he owned several hundred acres of land on which he raised livestock, tobacco and wheat. In 1730, he purchased an additional 100 acres of land in place called "Begin" and later, in 1745 an additional 95 acre tract at "Brothers Lott."
William Crabtree had strong religious beliefs. On one occasion, he refused to pay for the services of a local teacher when he found out that the teacher was a Catholic. William was a strong Protestant and could not condone this "Papist " instructing his children.1
