Charles H. Stanton was reared on a farm and received his education in the public schools. In early life he engaged in farming and stock raising for himself and is now the owner of a valuable farm of 300 acres, which is known as Long View Stock Farm. His place is well improved and he carries on general farming and stock raising. He is the owner
of one of the valuable jacks, eligible to registration, of Harrison County. He also is extensively engaged in raising sheep.
Mr. Stanton was married August 4, 1887 to Rachel Wiatt, a native of Harrison County, Missouri, and to that union were born the following children: Guy A., who lives in Colorado; Robert W. Union Township: Willa J., married L. R. Barnes, Dallas Township; Morris J., died in infancy; and Joel C., Union Township, Harrison County. By a second mar-
riage, Mr. Stanton has one son, Donald K., who resides at home with his parents. Mr. Stanton has a stepdaughter, Ruth Montgomery, whom he raised and she is now the wife of Donald S. Martin and they live in Sherman Township, Harrison County.
Mr. Stanton has been a member of the school board for a number of years. He is a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, having held membership in that order for the past twelve years. He is a substantial citizen and one of the representative men of Harrison
