Notes for John Ball II
His wife Elizabeth was (declared) insane in 1660 and probably had been thus some time. She gave much annoyance to her family and neighbors. She died and he married (2d) Oct 3, 1665, Elizabeth Fox (? Dau of Thomas Fox of Concord, afterwards of Watertown).
He sold his farm in Watertown 21 October 1665 and moved to Lancaster, Worcester Co., MA, where he was one of the three earliest settlers.1
John Ball, his second wife, and son Joseph were slain in the attack upon the town (Lancaster) by Indians and two other children were taken into captivity (Esther, Abigail).254
