Was Capt.Cloyd's Militia Co. in Nashville, TN 1812 w/ bro. Joseph. Porters came to KY, had some awful mishap in their log cabin. They came by river raft & cleared out wilderness so they could erect their cabins at edge of clearing. Fires kept wolves of forest away. Porter ref says f. is 3778. DAR records indicate f. is 749, not 13271 (son of 749). At wedding was Lilly Cordelia Porter Holt. Porter Farquharson Cope lists 764 & 15902 as parents. Was b. 1786/7 in Adams Co.,PA per Mrs. E.Whitley of Nashville,TN
