Betsy's parents were Nathanial and Jane Christian. Her birth date is reported by some as 1748 and by others as 1755. She became the wife of William Boydston in 1778. They were married in Montgomery County, Virginia.
She must have been an incredible woman, having lived in places where Indians attacked and weather was a bitter enemy. She and her husband sold their property in Tennessee in 1834 and moved to Missouri, where their children had settled. William and Betsy lived with their son Thomas in Buchanan County, Missouri, the last few years of their lives.
