Joseph Edson was a selectman for the Town of Bridgewater, 1719-1722. He lived in the North Precinct, now West Bridgewater, and was a Deacon of First Church for many years before his death. “Through a long live” he “uniformly sustained the character of an honest and useful man, a kind and obliging neighbor, a pious and exemplary Christian.”55
