Note:
"I am an antique/junque dealer from Iowa and I have acquired a copy of Churchman's Magazine from Sept. 1813. In this bound magazine I found a hand written record of John Hunt b. August 24, 1749 and Elizabeth Hunt b. November 13, 1750 and family. The written record was done by Elizabeth and it includes information about a property transfer to her daughters Emily Hunt Bronson, Sally Maria Hunt Prince, and Sarah Rebecca Hunt. I would like to send this book to a decendant of one of these family members and I have no idea how to reach them." -Hunt genforum
This is the text of the writing in the magazine:
"Eliz Hunt goin? herby Mr Thomas & Miss Elizabeth Cummin it being the property of their dear mother oc??gced? & as it was a present to me I now present it to my beloved son and daughter Samuel & Emily Bronson & their family for their edification after my decease. Eliz Hunt"
"I Elizabeth Hunt owned a piece of woodland called the Goodsal Lot which I have given at the decease of my husband & myself in deed of gift to be divided as follows -- Anna Maria Potter, Emily Bronson, Sally Maria Prince, Sarah Rebecca Hunt which is recorded in East Haven Nov 18th 1819 - In Volume 6, page 6 by Bela Farnham, Town Clerk"
[This could be her own creation, its handwriten and there appear to be three drafts as below]
"The birthday wish
may all they years serenely flow
not charge with care nor mix'd with noe ?
and still as this Lov'd day returns
while they glad heart within the burns
may gratitude ???? are the feast
and hope be there to willing? guest
nor rosy health nor sprightly joys
refuse to wait upon my boys"
"The Birth Days wish
May all they years serenely flow
Not charged with ??? nor Mi???? with
And still us this loved day returns
While they gld heart within thee ???"
"The Birth Days wish
May all they years serenely flow
Not charged with care nor ???"
[Again it appears that this poem is her own creation]
"The Example of Christ
Art thou unhappy in the grief
Recall the sorrws Jesus bore
And are they joys - but few and brief
remember him and weep no more
The blooms of friendship, death will blight
but when the gathering clouds come
Let faith their summits gild with light
and check the tear that dares repine
When flatterie soothe & hopes allure
And pleasures woo with syren tone
Like him unmov'd the test endure
and bow they knee to God and one
when foes assail or friends betray
of hatred or revenge beware
with kindness all their wrongs repay
father forgive them be thy prayer
remember jesus how he bore
afflictions weight temptations none [?]
Remember Jesus life & more
Remember Jesus dying hour
