Dear Grandchildren
We recd a Letter from you Both by your Uncle Isaac [Thompson] which pleased us much very Glad to hear you & children were in such good health have sent some calico to make each of them a slip with tape & thread to make them I [wish] it were Better but tis the Best I could afford I have a most shocking Bad Leg which is in extreme Pain almost all the time Your Brother Isaac will tell you as he has seen it. You mention moving in the spring you are both young & my do very well with a Blessing which you must endeavour to obtain by praying to God for to assist you & direct you in all your concerns Both spirittual and temporall not move too often & Build your house on a Rock. Remember a Rolling stone gathers no moss endeavour to Bring your Children up in the fear of the Lord and you will discharge your duty I speak to you Both but especially to you, as mother says have them under their eyes when young. Wherever you move to beg you will always write to us as long as we live. We shall be glad to hear of your welfare I have no more to say But write every opportunity we all Join In Love to you all May God Prosper you in this undertaking is the sincere wish of your grandparents.
